Event announcement

Clanfield Challenge 2022 start line

Whilst we understand how popular the event has become, how valuable it is to our community and how enjoyable the event is for all participants, their family and friends, our small group of Volunteers are quite simply, exhausted.

  All news

Whilst there are a huge number of volunteers and local people who bring about a successful event, during the normally sunny weekend, in May each year, behind the scenes, our event is actually organised by 5 or 6 incredibly committed individuals. Due to our own personal commitments to work and family, it has become unfeasible to continue to run the event in it's current guise.

Whilst there is no reason to rule out a return to the event in future, the quality of our own personal lives must take priority over the event.

We'd like to thank all of the local businesses, community organisations and sponsors who have helped finance the race to keep tickets affordable for all.

To our amazing volunteers for all of their efforts marshalling the route, registering, directing, handing out medals, erecting marquees, setting up the routes... and so much more, another HUGE THANK-YOU

And finally, we'd like to thank every single runner, of all ages and abilities for turning up and taking part. The event is nothing without you crazy people!

For now though, we're signing out, but Ken, Brian, John, Sarah, Pete H and I wish you all a healthy, active and enjoyable future.

Take care,
Pete G

We'd like to thank all our supporters for their donations, help with organisation and sponsorship.
