Let's keep it short and sweet - We know how busy you all are!
So, there's a few changes and additions this year:
Registration Registration will be open on Saturday 18th May at Clanfield Community Centre from 10:00 to 14:00. This gives any locals the opportunity to miss the queues on Sunday. Regsitration on Sunday 19th will still be on South Lane Meadow (the location of the 1k and 2k races, and the finish point for the 5k, 12k and 20k).
T-Shirts Our wonderful technical running Tees will be handed out at registration, giving you all an opportunity to wear our bling for your run. Why not join in our wonderful game of Where's Wally - Will you be able to spot yourself in the post run photos? Also, our random spot prizes will only be given and selected from those wearing their T-Shirt!
Road Closures We do have a new road closure on South Lane this year. In previous years, traffic on the Hambledon Road/South Lane junction has been difficult to manage with lots of sweaty 12k and 20k runners crossing the road at this point. We've spent the extra cash and closed South Lane from Hambledon Road to Red House Lane for the busiest hour or two.
Water Stations Last year we had two drinks stations. It was hot in 2018 and we had lots of runners ask for another drinks station. Well, we've added two more. They are in the following locations so look out for them on your run.
5k/20k route - At the meeting point of Green Lane, Chalton Lane and the Rooks Way
20k route - At the top of Butser Hill (of course)
12k/20k route - At the Sustainability Centre on the South Downs Way
12k/20k route - On Hambledon Road Farm
Participants swag There's still a fantastic medal for all, chip timing for all, great technical Tees for adults, environmentally friendlier wristbands for the kids and lots of goodies to drink and eat at the finish, but as the kids won't get a T-Shirt (we have 3 years olds running don't you know) we decided to order them a fab water bottle that they can keep and use in school to stay hydrated and focussed (again environmentally sound). No goodies "bags" this year as we don't want the plastic! Help yourself to treats when you finish.
Entertainment You liked the bands in 2017, you liked the DJ in 2018 - In 2019 we have them both. Our DJ will help with the warm ups and will keep the music going when runners are coming in and our bands will start a little later to entertain those celebrating with food and drink. We also have Rock Choir and Southern Arts Academy entertaining our entrants family and friends :-)
Food and drink There's more to choose from this year. We have Boozy Bakers cakes, Corner 53 gin & tonic, The Hampshire Hog for the best local ales, wines and soft drinks, Regency Whippy for the best Ice Cream, Tally Ho drinks for celebratory Prosecco and Park Porkies and Country Kitchen providing a range of meat and vegan friendly food options.
Prices Only kidding - you still get the same great day out and swag for nothing more!
We'd like to thank all our supporters for their donations, help with organisation and sponsorship.
